Update following meeting: The OSC voted to refer the approval of the Walnut Bridge project back to the Executive. This will mean delay, probably a few weeks for the Executive to meet again. If they vote for major reconsideration, then we could be talking months. Webcast video of the meeting here.
Following a rocky ride at the Council’s Executive Committee meeting on 7th January, where an additional £450K funding was requested, the application has been referred to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 4th February. From the agenda and reports pack it would appear that it will be a robust challenge of the whole project, with the option to exclude the public from parts of the meeting that touch on commercial issues.
