During the COVID-19 pandemic GBUG endeavoured to support SCC in its bids to the Government’s EATF. We consulted our members and drew up a list of recommended measures – short, medium and long term. Nothing was included for cycling in Guildford in Tranche 1 (pop-up lanes) – although pavements were temporarily widened on Bridge Street and High Street. We lobbied hard for Dagley Lane resurfacing (part of the Guildford-Godalming Greenway) to be included in Tranche 2 funding bid, which it was.
