The towpath of the Wey Navigation provides an enjoyable green route through the town. The surface has been improved from the Town Centre to the A320 Woking Road bridge to provide a better cycling experience. (The surface can be seen in the photo). A GBUG member sits in the National Trust’s towpath users group, so if you have any cycling-related issues with the towpath please send them to info@g-bug.org.
For a longer nearly traffic free circuit, you can cycle along the towpath from Guildford to the junction with the Basingstoke canal, which also has an excellent towpath which takes you around to Ash, where you can pick up the Christmas Pie Trail back to Guildford. More details on Nigel B’s blog.
